Calla Lilies in Arboretum - Bloom with a View 2024

 

Calla lilies are a flowers with an elegant cylindrical shape and fantastic colors. Calla lilies are available in white, yellow, burgundy, almost black, rose, pink, orange and multicolored varieties.
They attract butterflies and hummingbirds.
Calla lilies, native to southern Africa, are considered delicate plants.
Calla lilies are not true lilies and belong 
to a different plant family. They are related to Jack-in-the-Pulpit and Caladium (last three photos).


 
 



 






Caladium is a genus of flowering plants in the family Araceae. They are often known by the common name elephant ear, heart of Jesus,and angel wings. There are over 1000 named cultivars of Caladium bicolor from the original South American plant. wikipedia
