Washington National Cathedral and gardens

National Cathedral in Washington was built in the twentieth century, but thanks to stained glass windows, Gothic spires and buttresses looks like an old building.
The construction of cathedral started in 1907 and was completed 83 years later in 1990.
The Indiana limestone structure has a 30-story central tower, a nave with 9 openings and 215 stained glass windows, including one embedded with a moon rock.
On the nave level there is an intricately carved wooden choir area.

Designed by English architect W. Douglas Caroe, the pulpit was carved in England and depicts the history of English translations of the Bible.

High Alter - 110 figures of men and women surround the central figure of Christ in Majesty

St.Mary's Chapel shows scenes from the life of Mary, the mother of Jesus.

The Space Window - commemorates the Apollo 11 mission to the moon and holds
a piece of moon rock brought back by its crew.
