Turkey Tail Mushroom - Trametes versicolor or Coriolus versicolor
Turkey tail mushrooms are multicolored fungi that grow on dead hardwood trees in wooded areas. These mushrooms have a disc-like shape and varying colors. There are layered strips of brown, tan, gray, and white which can be remarkable.

For centuries, people have used these mushrooms as a health supplement.
In traditional Chinese medicine, people use turkey tail extract (Yun zhi) as a treatment for respiratory conditions. A number of studies have shown that turkey tail mushrooms strengthen the immune system. They can be used in a cancer treatment - talks about it Paul Stamets in Fantastic Fungi (book and movie).
