Japanese Temple and Asia Garden at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina
Japanese temple - The Palace of Peace in Furman University is the first Japanese temple ever to be dismantled and reconstructed in America. For many years this inter-generational temple,
Hei-Sei-Ji, was standing in Nagoya, Japan.
In 2004 it was dismantled into 2,400 pieces and transported through the Panama Canal.
Then was reconstructed by Japanese craftsmen in 2008 at the Furman University campus.
It is a donation of Tsuzuki family.
Close to the Palace of Peace there is a beautiful the Asia Garden.
Both these places were designed "to stimulate your experience of connection to the earth, and all the people of the world." - from information at the entrance to the temple.
Walk around the Swan Lake at the Furman University campus -
this year there were more the black swans than usual.
