In the early 1900s Juliette was a busy railroad community. Over time, the railway traffic decreased and declined. This place was completely forgotten until 1991 when the creators
of the film "Fried Green Tomatoes" found Juliette. They created the fictional community
of Whistle Stop reconstructing the old buildings in Juliette.
The Whistle Stop Café served as a movie set for "Fried Green Tomatoes". Since then this place has attracted many people who want to eat fried green tomatoes on the movie set. And sometimes to see the train which blew the whistle.
And the town has flourished since the creation of this film; now there are many gift and collectible shops. This is place become very touristy.
Na początku XX wieku Juliette była ruchliwym punktem kolejowym. Z czasem transport kolejowy zmniejszył się i zanikł. To miejsce było całkowicie zapomniane aż do 1991 roku, kiedy to twórcy filmu "Smażone zielone pomidory" odnaleźli Juliette. I tutaj stworzyli fikcyjną społeczność Whistle Stop rekonstruując stare budynki w Juliette.
Whistle Stop Café była miejscem gdzie kręcono film "Fried Green Tomatoes". Od tego czasu ta restauracja przyciąga wielu ludzi, którzy chcą jeść smażone zielone pomidory na planie filmowym.
A także czasami zobaczyć przejeżdżający pociąg, który gwiżdże.
Miasto rozkwitło od czasu stworzenia tego filmu; teraz jest tutaj wiele sklepów z pamiątkami.

We never ate fried green tomatoes, so we decided to try this famous food.
We ordered two appetizers.
And after 1 slice we've found out that fried green tomatoes are not our favorite dish. As you can see on the photos, 6 slices of fried green tomatoes it is one appetizer for the price of 8.5 dollars.
After arriving home, I went through the comments about this restaurant on TripAdviser
and have found one person telling how expensive it was to pay for the appetizer of 8 slices
of fried green tomatoes almost $ 9.00 ... it was 7 months ago, in September 2017.
Nigdy nie jedliśmy smażonych zielonych pomidorów i zamówiliśmy dwie przystawki tego znanego przysmaku. I po jednym plasterku wiedzieliśmy, że smażone zielone pomidory nie są naszym ulubionym daniem. Jak widać na zdjęciach jedna przystawka to 6 plasterków smażonych zielonych pomidorów w cenie 8.5 dolara. Po przyjeździe do domu przejrzałam komentarze o tej restauracji na TripAdviser i znalazłam uwagę o tym jak drogo zapłacono za przystawkę z 8 plasterków smażonych zielonych pomidorów - bo aż prawie 9 dolarów... to było 7 miesięcy temu, we wrześniu 2017 roku.
