Maymont
- the Gilded Age estate was originally owned by a wealthy Richmond
lawyer and philanthropist James H. Dooley and his wife Sallie.
The Romanesque-style mansion was completed in 1893.
The couple lived in the mansion from 1893 until their deaths in 1912 and 1925 respectively
The Maymont grounds are very picturesque, with gardens, rocks, streams. Especially the Japanese and Italian gardens are very scenic.
